Abstract
The Second Lamian Empire, also known as The Undying Theocracy consists of a set of lands to the west of the Aelyrian Empire ceded to the Lamia by way of treaty and war.
History
The Undying Theocracy had at least three major power-centers: the royal Temple City of Lin'shassis (sometimes spelled Lak'shessis), the prosperous trading City of Shissar (originally a Saurid city), and the great City of Sshrae'ssa (on the banks of the Koor River). These cities, located within the Old Lamian Empire territory, fell to ruin after The Xet Alliance pressed upon their western border and demanded their surrender. Once given, the Lamia became second class citizens of the Alliance until ultimately they were brutally enslaved, many killed and their priests systemically executed.
During the most recent Xetan War between The Xet Alliance and the Aelyrian Empire, the Serpent Queen Nakasha rose up from her slumber and rallied her downtrodden people into rebellion. With her strength and power, Nakasha led her people to freedom through the desert lands of Arakmat. It was here that Nakasha met with the Sultan of Arakmat, who agreed to join forces with the Lamia and ultimately placed the desert lands into the hands of his new allies.

Political Structure
Lamian society is largely matriarchical with all females being considered priestesses of the Serpent Queen who is herself attended by a court of seven handmaidens. Nakasha and her handmaidens are effectively the ruling council of The Undying Theocracy. Classically, males in Lamian society are divided into three castes: priests, zealots and overseers.
The Lamia have a theocratic empire in which they view the immortal Serpent Queen Nakasha, a powerful Necromancer, as the mate of a demigod minion of Jalat, God of Death. Devout worshippers of Jalat, the Lamia view Death as a sacred and beautiful occurrence, a passage from a lesser extistence to a more pure and serene form; accordingly, Necromancy is practiced in the empire as a form of religious Magic.
Territories
There are three territories within the Lamian Empire.
Old Lamian Empire
The Old Lamian Empire is composed largely of the lands held by the Lamians of ancient times, when the Serpent Queen ruled before her long slumber in the catacombs. It is within the cradle of the present day Lamian Theocracy, stretching from the northern banks of the Northern Sea to the southern border it shares with The Xet Alliance.Protectorate of Arakmat
Arakmat, also commonly know as the Protectorate, sits along the westernmost border of the Aelyrian Empire.Incorporated Territory of N'Danosh
N'Danosh is a collection of former free cities and sits on the edge of the desert of Arakmat. It is considered part of the Undying Theocracy and represents the westernmost part of the Empire.Credit
