    Description

Greatcave is a vast cave, one of the larger caves in The Nightlands that plays host to the Suzerainty of Greatcave. It is a large and verdant place, full of strange fungal growths and eerie white trees. The cave is large enough to sport its own weather system and is often shrouded in fog and mist. Right through the middle of the cave runs the river Deris which connects Greatcave to The Sunken Sea. There are a multitude of farms and smaller settlements strewn throughout Greatcave, but it is perhaps best known for Kharhet, the first city of the Suzerainty.

    History

Greatcave has played host to several civilisations prior to the advent of the Rodenti. Ruins of ancient civilisations are often found and used for building materials to this day. When the Rodenti arrived here, they had to remove a colony of Gromen to make room for their new city and the Bridge of Whispers still stands as tribute to the last and bloodiest battle they had to fight to gain the foothold here that would eventually become the Suzerainty of Greatcave.

    Geography

    Terrain

Greatcave is a large place, the soft undergrowth and hidden deadfalls is often as dangerous to the unwary as anything. The slimy white trees and the glowing fungus offers up a cave that's fully a quarter boglands and the rest is covered in various Rodenti settlements and farmlands.

    Climate

Due to its prodigious size Greatcave has its own weather system and parts of it is often covered in fog and mist, sometimes it even rains.
