The couple looked at the two of them and then turned their attention to Leto as he was obviously the one in charge. The man of the couple spoke and smiled "Serale! I hope so. We are looking for a complete set of bespoke jewelry, designed by me for my beautiful fiancee here, for our wedding brightening." he said and the woman blushed prettily and smiled.

He looked at Leto and gave him a charming, wolfish grin "I want to be involved in every step, though. We're very exacting when it comes to stanards, it's only fair to tell you. I want something as unique and as beautiful as my lady here" he was obviously besotted with her and vice versa, and then the woman spoke, quietly "We have to make sure that everything is just so, it's going to be quite the society wedding" she said, and evidently that was very important to them, too, judging by the firm nods from them both when she said it.

"So, we came here to see if this might be possibe?" he said, looking slightly doubtful

"Well," started Leto as he looked towards the two of them, listening to their request and digesting it, so that he understood what they meant. "Having you involved in the process would be quite a new thing to me, but I'm certainly not opposed to it. Only one small slight twitch, did you want the jewelry to have gemstones or not? Sadly, we are still waiting on our gemstone order from the Daltina Gem Mines, as it has not arrived yet. My many apologies about that, I can still make jewelry, just perhaps not ones with beautifully crafted gemstones in them at the moment. Unique, most certainly, but not as good as they could be..." he said to the couple, his face having a bit of a saddened expression that he couldn't help them as much as they might very well want him to.

"If you don't wish to have gems within them, then we can see how much 'in the process' you want to be..." he stated, his eyes falling upon the man prior to glancing over towards the woman to gauge their responses...

They listened to what he had to say and the woman's mouth lowered in a small expression of disappointment. She sighed and glanced at the man who looked at Leto with something akin to amazement in his eyes. "So you are telling me that the 'Abundant Gem Mines are not so abundant at all? That is ridiculous" he said and he looked at the woman with a shake of his head.

"As I said, a high society wedding. And you expect me to shop somewhere which creates jewelry but has not gemstones of any description? That is frankly ludicrous" he said, and turned to his fiancee. She looked at Leto apologetically, glancing back to her man with a vaguely pleading expression 'Everyone suffers setbacks, maybe we could look around?' she said, questioningly.

The man of the pair of them looked ready to walk out of the shop, but his gaze softened when his fiancee spoke to him and he sighed, throwing his hands up in a gesture of defeat "Ever the soft hearted one, my darling" he said and he smiled at her adoringly "I can not begin to imagine that you have anything that is vaguely good enough for this beautiful jewel to wear considering your lack of the same, but I am open to you surprising me" he said, giving Leto a look which told him, very clearly, that he really didn't think he was going to be surprised at all.

Not at all.

"You have my many apologies about the lack of gemstones in high quality right now. We are currently working on setting up trade routes to the Daltina Gem Mines in order to procure a decent size amount of gemstones to work with. As for what I can do with high quality metals is a bit different. Let me show you some of my work, if you don't mind looking..." said Leto, not at all surprised by the man's reaction. He had gotten that quite a bit since opening the shop, prior to working on getting the trade route open. It had been his mistake to open up shop without the proper trades coming into the city, but he would ever so continue to sell jewelry utilizing the various precious metals he could get his hands upon.

Walking over to one of his displays, he would motion for them to follow, and if they did, their eyes would be beset upon a necklace and some earings, made entirely of gold, but having a variety of flair added to it when worn.

"This is simply an example of what I can do with just a little bit of gold, it doesn't take very much gold to make this type of jewelry, and I can make pretty much most designs that anyone can come up with. I'm also not against learning how to work with new alloys if you had a specific color in mind that you'd like the jewelry. By adding a bit of copper to this gold, you'd get a beautiful gold named rose gold for it's reddish hue. A bit more expensive than regular gold..." he said, a slight smile crossing his face as he spoke. But he honestly hoped the man would give it at least some thought when seeing an example of what it was that he could do without any gemstones whatsoever...

It had to be said, even the woman of the pair turned her nose up at the necklace and earring set that they saw. Her nose crinkled in distaste at the pieces in front of her "It's a smidge too... gauche, for my tastes. I was looking for something delicate, exquisite and .. well, it's very cleverly done, but really it's all rather tasteless, don't you think, darling?" she asked and her fiance nodded. "I agree. However" he said, more thoughtfully "It does at least show us that he has some talent. Perhaps.. I was hoping to buy something for my darling delight which sparkled in the way that she does. Is that achievable with just gold?" he wondered looking at the pieces with a brief, dismissive glance.

"I was envisoning diamonds, interspersed with emeralds, sapphires, that kind of thing. But if you can utilise alloys, whatever they are" he said, waving a hand dismissively. He wasn't concerned with such. "Well, can you make something small and exquisite which shines and glimmers?" he asked, doubtfully. The woman looked at Leto with interest, to see if this was achievable.

"That, I can work with. By utilizing a variety of metals, I could possibly create alloys that mimic jewels, things that would shine and glimmer when the sunlight or any light hit them of course..." he said then, thinking of possibly trying a new technique to at least mimic the jewels that he could make. Considerably, he was almost a master jewelcrafter, so why couldn't he do this? It would be interesting all of the same.

"How much in the process would you like to be? It's all rather boring if you're not into it, experimenting with different types of alloys to create new ones? That part, I could create a versatile variety of alloys to show you which one you'd like to choose from, and then perhaps parse them together to create an illusion of gemstones within a set of jewelry... That is, i believe, within my capable hands to do..." he then said, grinning, at his own ideas...

“I don’t see a reason I would need to stay for the process of your testing and experimentation so long as I give the final approval on that is done" the husband to be responded after a short moments of thinking about it. His fiance gently slid her arm unto his and leaned softly on him watching the exchange between the two men. She seemed to place her trust in his husbands judgement at this stage and offered a simple smile. "I would like to reserve the right to check on the progress of these experiments to ensure that everything is on track and to my liking" although if he wasn't finished determining the process what good would that do? It may have just been a power play for him to stick his nose in and see what was happening. He was planning a wedding afterall so time was not unlimited.

"I should hope it is. In your estimation, sir, what can we expect for a time frame in regards to your...testing?" he asked positioning a graphite stick covered in wood (pencil) against a small book he pulled from his pocket. He would also proceed to write down notes about the conversation they had and what was being done.

"I will put my full effort into it, but let me ask, when is the wedding, what timeframe would you like to place on it? I do have other orders, but this one will take priority. Experimentation shouldn't take too long, and once I have a few samples to show you, I can do that, and you can decide for yourselves?" he asked, looking towards the man, with a grin upon his face, throwing the ball back into his court in terms of time limits and such, giving him the option to choose what he felt would be reasonable, and see what Leto could consider to be reasonable as well, so that they could both come to a reasonable agreement on the work that would be done...

"Our wedding is scheduled three months from this very brightening" was the answer to the time frame of what they needed. Not a whole lot of time when compared to some weddings that were scheduled, especially considering the demands they were sure to have. The lady of the duo smiled happily cuddled up to her beaus arm. They had undoubtedly been expecting gems to be involved and for this particular piece to be exactly what they wanted and not much trouble. Would this be enough time to accomplish what they wanted, or should they look elsewhere?

"Two months at most should be what I believe I need to work my crafts in order to create what it is that you'd like me to do," said Leto, setting himself a goal for what it was he needed to do, and how to get it done. He'd put this project at the forefront of his other projects though, and start to work on it immediately so as to not keep them waiting. "If in fact I do finish it prior to the two month deadline, how should I contact you?" he asked then, looking towards the budding couple...

“That seems suitable” the husband-to-be said looking at the woman on his arm “though sooner shall fetch you a bit of a bonus” he promised. He did not want to leave things until the last minute, and what motivated people more than money? The lives of their loved ones, sure, but Leto seemed like he didn’t need that type of motivation and was it worth it for a wedding? To answer the request the man handed Leto a sheet of paper with his address on it, mailing or to stop by, either was acceptable.

If that was all they would wish him luck and leave. If there were more questions, they were happy to answer.

"Thank you for the information," said Leto, and handed it to Sarai'el, his assistant, whom would put it within safe keeping with the rest of the client's addresses in a locked box. "My question would be, what gemstones would you like the metal to mimic?" he asked then. "Or should I say, what samples would you like me to aim for making for you?" he asked the man and woman, as they continued to look at him questioningly.

If and when they answered, and after they left, Leto would start to devise his experiments, and would order several types of metals utilizing the money given to him by Sliucha to fund the shop...

"Green is the color we are looking for, soft and elegant like my fiance" he reminded Leto with a curt nod of his head. If that was all then the couple would leave the man to get to work.

Ordered metals had no problem coming in. He'd have anything he was looking for, anything rare would be charged as such.

So, Leto would order a rare type of copper, that was colored Green, as well as Nickle, that was a lighter shade of green. Once they came in, he'd start the experimentation. First, he'd create ingots of each, and then would heat them up to a certain temperature to make them plyable. Once that was finished, he'd hammer them out to create a very thin sheet. After that was done, Leto would proceed to cut the sheet into smaller pieces, and then would let it harden up again.

Once the copper was hardened, the young man would again, reheat it, to a plyable form, then would try his best to make spheres out of each of them, utilizing a mold he had made out of iron. Once he made the hollow spheres, if that was successful, he'd cool them, and then would see how they looked, whether they were transparent enough to mimic what a spherical gemstone might look like...

Leto was able to order and receive the copper he wanted without too much of an issue. It would take some time though, unless he wanted to wait a cycle though he would have to pay a minor grease payment. Nothing much just a little extra. He would have the option of going to a lower quality place if he didn’t want to do that and didn’t want to wait as long.

In the end he would have the copper he wanted.

Ingot creation: Success
Sheet creation: Success

The creation of spheres was easy enough with the mold he had created.

The problem was they didn’t appear to be transparent at all. They had a reflection of what was around them but still looked like copper balls. Green and nice looking but not the desired effect of being transparent.

Hrm... to make metal transparent... what about adding Glass to it? He wasn't much of a glassblower (no experience at all), but melting down glass, and adding it to the copper, intermingling the two, might give it some form of transparency? Working diligently, he'd remelt the copper spheres, order in some glass, heat it up until it melted down as well, and mixed the two together. This experimentation was getting to be fun, and hopefully adding the glass would make the balls a bit more transparent.

Again, not much known about glassblowing, but perhaps doing this might help to make the spheres more transparent, than what he had prior...

Kasey

Glass was melted down after playing with tempratues and the copper was easy enough given his experience. He certainly was able to mix them together but the once the molten hardened it was not the result of what Leto had been hoping for. The glass and the metal did not mix well together and the results were spheres with impurities, dents, bumbles and was not transparent.

It looked, to be frank, a mess.

Maybe... less copper, more glass? he thought as he looked down towards the impurity filled spheres. Or copper powder! added to molten glass! Copper generally turned a greenish hue when it was heated up, so perhaps this would work a little better. Ordering in some copper powder, he'd attempt the same experiment again, molten glass and copper powder mixed together, hopefully would become a stained glass sphere of a greenish hue...

Kasey

More glass and adding copper powder was, possibly, a great theory, but as the mans experience lay in working precious metal moreso than glassblowing the product that came out of the molten glass was not one that he would want to use for anything. If this was the avenue that he was looking to try he might want to get some experience from a glassblower. But then the item would be made more of glass than anything.

Throwing the junk away, Leto sat down, thinking on his predictament. How to make metal, look like gemstones. It was a tough scenario, and he wasn't sure he'd be able to do it properly, and in time. The thinner the metal, the more he thought it might look transparent... but this just wasn't working out! No more glass, he was a jewelcrafter, and he needed jewels, as metal wouldn't be made to look like them, he'd have to go out and procure them himself it seemed.

Since Ziel Aerca was left with no influx of jewels, time to head to the Daltina Gem mines to try and start up a trade route for Ziel Aerca and his shop. He'd pack his bags, hang the 'Closed' sign up, alert Sliucha about what he happened to be doing, and then would start making his way out of Ziel, towards Daltina's gem mines...
