Pescado Branch
Leader of the Saurid Remnants
To Rebel against Rebels (Open, Spiky Bushes please) Continued from : http://www.aelyria.com/forums/palace...e-pescado.html Timestamp: Aperitus 25th, The Longest Winter, Era XVI PF The saurid appeared just ouside of Taralon, wearing his black uniform with blue shoulderpads, and blue lining upon it. It coordinated with his green scaled quite well, and as he looked up towards the gates of Taralon, he smiled and turned to Master Gwygwin. "Thank you, now go before anyone sssssseesssss you..." he said, and with that Master Gwygwin teleported away again, leaving the saurid on his own near the grand city of Taralon, leader of the Rebellion. Not needing to close his eyes to reach his Clara anymore, the saurid just meditated quickly, and ended up reaching it in about five seconds. As he did, he would start to cast the first spell that would help him with his entrance to the city. It would be a grand spell, one larger than he had ever done before, and by doing it, he might cause a rebellion of folks within Taralon. To think, their city was about to be attacked by a Master Mystic was quite unfathomable, and he would need to use all of his power and capability to infiltrate the rebels and cause as much a disruption as possible. Now that he was in Clara, he would begin to cast his spell. Forming the arcalysis reaction by combining the Ara and his very own Vis together, he would then focus upon the Psionic Plane and channle the psionic essenses into the reaction to form the Mana necessary for the spell. After he completed that, he would then Alter the Mana into thousands of tiny Matrixes, and then he would Divine a suggestion into them. The Suggestion was going to be "The Royals are the right way to go, follow them, and all will be fine" As he did this, he then would Abjure the Matrixes into the minds of thousands of Taralonians, changing their opinions to that of working for the Royals instead of the Confederates. This would be his cue to enter the gates, when the rebellion of the people started. Thousands of them would hopefully rise up, and rebel against the leaders of the rebellion, whomever they might be, while Pescado took that chance to enter the city, and gather as much information as possible before he used the rings of teleportation to get back to the Sentinel Gateways infront of Milo's Palace... |
Winter had turned from harsh to mild with the passage of time and even though it seemed to refuse to go away the people of Sherian, and specially those of Taralon, kept going with their Brightening-to-Brightening lives. An ever growing city, Taralon had seen in the past Era an exponential growth of its population and improvement of the residences to accomodate the new arrivals. These came from all over Aelyria, mostly from Prime Province and Enamoria though, and they all came for their own reasons: there were exiles, there were fortune seekers, there were greedy people and there were unlucky people. Even if relatively open minded the Taralonians hadn't seen the arrival of so many foreigns in such a small portion of time with good eyes. Obviously they accepted the renouned names of the Noble Houses and the ranks of the military but the majority of the newcomers didn't have the possessions required to literally buy the complete acceptance of the Taralonians. No violence had not been visible so far except for the occasional fight between drunken men in the Harbor District or the rare woman crying for a broken heart as the husband was found to have an affair with a woman who had just recently arrived in the city. Still the tension could be felt if a person cared to look carefully, but which is the city without its degree of cultural and racial tension? The kind of tension Taralon had that perhaps most other cities didn't have was that of the impending war with the Kingdom of the Ancient Aelyrians. In a militarized city like this one it would go unnoticed if not for the presence of the very Imperial Government in Exile in the city. Here was where the Imperial Senate gathered and where the Royal forces would strike harder, and possibly be harder pressed to break. Young men were drafted into service in the Golden Scales and rare was the adult man who didn't have ties with the military to some extend. Still no threat was even dreamed to be possible to come to Taralon, except maybe from the Great Ocean, therefore aside of the presence of more guards than the usual in the Harbor District, also to ensure there would be no fights between drunk men, there was little military activity in the city. Outside of it though Pescado would see otherwise. He had been teleported in the middle of the Training Fields that surrounded Taralon, in an area kept clean and empty for riders to practice with their horses as the footprints of hooves in the ground indicated. Without problems due to his mastery of Mysticism Pescado entered Clara and started preparing his spell and, when it was ready, casted it on the area beyond the walls he could see not one Mille in front of him. When it was done the Saurid noticed that the ground around him trembled slightly and, as he looked to his right, saw a group of some twenty heavy armored knights, all dressed in blue and yellow and using helmets with the shape of serpents. He didn't have much time to move as the knights divided in two groups and passed his position without caring much about him except to try and avoid a fall. One of the knights slowed slightly and came to a halt next to him and grinned to the Saurid as he looked down from his saddle. "I wouldn't be standing there if I was you, my scalie friend. Don't you see we're practicing with our horses? Still it was brave of you to hold on while we approached." He offered a honest smile and adjusted his helmet. "It was a pleasure." And with that the young man with blonde hair, blue eyes and a scar under his left eye rode on to join his comrades. From the distance Pescado could see that he seemed to command the respect of the others as they gathered around him and then followed him to the other side of the horses' track to continue with their training. To the south of the Saurid the constant buzzing of sounds Taralon was so used to continued. The closest entry to the city was the Northern Gate, about two Milles away from where he stood now, alone. |
After his spell was cast, and he was released from Clara, he immediately felt the ground shaking under him. Turning his snakelike head towards the riders, he quickly entered Clara again in case they were heading towards him to attack him. But luckily before he cast any spells, they just rode right on by, and didn't say a word. Letting his mind slip from his clara he looked towards the single man that rode behind them whom talked about how they were practicing with their horses. He then rode off. Pescado turned once more towards the city of Taralon, and took his spear from it's holster on his back, setting it into the ground. In one of his pockets, he had an enchanted ruby that would allow him to access his spell of Invisibility anytime, all of the time, and anywhere. Thinking to it, he thought the single word Invisibility and then him, and his spear disappeared from sight. Walking towards the Northern Gate, he would make sure not to run into anymore random training patrols. It would be a simple walk, and he would make his way into the city, invisibly, and hopefully without incident as he walked in between the large gates, if they were open. If not, he would wait until someone entered them, and then slide in the gates along with the random person that entered, unnoticed, unless somehow the guards could see things that were invisible... |
The Northern Gate was indeed open and people was moving through it calmly. The usual traffic jams at dawn when the Vorgan Mine workers left the city was now several Candlemarks past and the one at Suns-set when they returned was even more Candlemarks to come. It meant it was just the random traveller, the merchant pulling his pack-mule, the carpenter who was going out to the lumberjacking camps of Deepwood Forest to buy some wood and nothing else. The Golden Scales themselves were calmly and lazily sitting on wooden crates by the guard-house next to the gate while a lonely Black Shield in his dark plate armor checked the Visas of the newcomers. "It's been a quiet Brightening. I hear everyone is at the docks seeing the arrival of the Arkdüni, Sarge." Said a human soldier to the other, a dwarf. "Yeah, it's seems it's quite a fleet they brought. Eight colossal ships and sixteen smaller ones, and small to them is Frigate-sized! Crazy..." Replied the one who apparently held the rank of Sergeant. "John, the one of the morning shift also told me they brought many soldiers with them, thousands even! My worry is that there are so many Dracons among them, Sarge. I don't like the smell of those scalies, not one bit." "Oh shush you! Probably they won't even be staying here in the city, we don't really have much room for those northerners, they eat too much! And hey! It's better having a Dracon dying in your stead than losing a fellow Sherianite, eh?" "True true, Sarge." "What if the two of you helped me checking this cursed bags?" Bellowed the Black Shield, an imposingly tall Vagaran. The Golden Scales looked at each other and after sharing a devious grin stood up to help him check the bags in the merchant's pack-mule. "But...but, what is there of wrong with my goods?" Asked the merchant. "It seems you're trying to sneak some illegal vegetables into the city. It's not your fault, they were just outlawed a few Brightenings ago by the Lord Thane because a whole class kids got a fever after eating them in the canteen. Seems one of the kids was the soon of an Assistant of the Lord Thane himself. We'll just confiscate them." He hand the man a paper with something written on it. "Take this to the Aedile's office later and someone will refund you for the losses." The merchant simply nodded and, after the 'vegetables' were removed from his pack-mule's bags, moved one. Things seemed pretty normal at the gates. |
