Physical Description​

Tall and lanky, Thad looks out on the world with emerald-colored eyes. Shoulder-length locks of brown hair frame a long face and nose. He typically wears clothes suited for a scholar, often donning a collared shirt, vest, and long coat. While in his workshop, he replaces the vest and coat with a heavy leather apron, goggles, and a bandana.

Background​

Thad was born to landowners near Trysvale. His childhood brightenings were spent watching his mother and father manage farms and forests. It was an easy life in a good community. His favourite memories were forged far from home, however, during the occasional visits to his Uncle Graydon's workshop in Medonia. A master gadgeteer, Graydon owned a small workshop that was like a wonderland for young Thad. Each visit, they would spend their brightenings huddled up together, making toys from wood and metal gears, springs, and windup keys.

As Thad grew older, his passion for gadgetry grew. He would send the design schematics he dreamed up to Graydon for critique, then try to build them somewhere on the farms. Some worked, some failed spectacularly, but Thad always enjoyed the process. Most of his designs were meant to automate his chores to some degree, thus freeing up his time for study and exploration of the nearby forests. Time passed. Thad automated more of his work. He studied more. He explored more.

Eventually he left home, hoping to secure higher education in Jaedaxia, but the Empire's struggles soon diverted him from his studies. One day, Thad received a letter from his uncle requesting his help. Thad left his studies and soon found himself standing within in the decimated city of Medonia. Graydon was working hard to rebuild it, designing construction apparatuses to help raise buildings. He had been wounded severely during the occupation and could no longer handle the physical labor. So, Thad worked with his uncle, learning the gadgeteering trade while being the muscle to build Graydon's inventions. Eventually, the city began to rise again, but as Medonia was reborn, Graydon's injuries took him closer to his death. Eventually, he succumbed to his wounds, and Thad was left alone in a workshop filled with memories of childlike wonder.
