Milo13a.jpg

Appearance:
Milo is a human, fully half Eunesian through his father Rioughe. He's just shy of six feet tall and weighs around one hundred and eighty five pounds; though he's probably put on a couple of pounds over the past decade due to his appreciation for good Eunesian food and wine. His hair is medium to dark brown, lightly streaked here and there with silver particularly at the temples, and where facial hair is concerned, he appears to have perfected a three brightening shadow. His eyes are an earthy shade of green and though these days he's pushing forty, due to a life spent much in the outdoors roaming private beaches or engaging in daily morning swims, puttering round the shallows in an old rowboat that's seen better days, or working among the olive and fig trees on the property surrounding his villa, he's managed to remain as fit as ever, and then some, and has fully embraced his Eunesian identity in almost every way, largely leaving behind the ways of the Aelyrian mainland.

Background / Current Circumstances:
Milo is the former Imperial Consul to Sherian, then Intentendant and Regent of the Aelyrian Empire, and later, Prince of the Aelyrian Kingdom. After relinquishing the throne of his own accord, he returned to Eunesia with his family, to reside on Chelseanna where he and Nell, his wife, had purchased a villa, private beach and the lands surrounding the villa. These holdings and whatever influence/authority they impart, extend to a measurable extent over the entirety of Chelseanna. Shortly after their arrival, leaving their three young children behind with Milo, Nell departed the island and returned to the Aelyrian mainland. A decade on, there remains no news of her whereabouts, or contact of any kind with Milo or the children. Update: After nearly a decade of being away, Nell has recently returned to Chelseana.

When contact between Eunesia and the Empire was severed, Milo remained on Chelseanna with his family, opting for a more peaceful and quiet life away from ever changing Imperial politics, power struggles and ceaseless turmoil; thus the inevitable ruin of their aftermath; on the Empire's mainland. One might consider it to be something of a self induced exile, but a preferable one from his point of view. Now that contact between Eunesia and the Empire has been somewhat restored (I think?), Milo has no immediate plans to return or visit the mainland.

He resides at Villa Parádeisos with his three children, Hannah, Owen and Madeline and now Nell, his father Rioughe and occasionally, his mother Gloriana. The property supports both fig and olive groves, along with plenty of grazing for a small herd of goats, a handful of horses and other assorted barnyard animals, along with two elephants, mother and daughter Lily and Rose.

more than most, have a stake in this nation stabilizing and becoming a more permanent fixture of stability for the generations to come. And in that light, we've brought Prince Milo not an ancient artifact, but indeed something newly created. It is our hope that this gift, this symbol of peace, will become a lasting addition to his sovereign toolbox. And it is our hope that he will use it wisely, as it's meant to be used. For it has a very special name.... "The Eye of Aelyria." And, as the Kingdom has been deeded, so too has the Eye... for it will only awaken for him and his blood descendants." The ancient gold dragon rumbled. Then, he took the carved wooden box he had in his hand and opened it. Carefully, with his talons, he pulled forth what looked like a scepter made of hammered gold with its handle etched with a raised map of aelyria wrapped around it. The actual globe portion wasn't metal, however, instead it was a clear material that looked a great deal like a diamond slightly the size of a young childs head, including the normal inclusions found in such stones. The Gold Dragon offered the thing to Milo even as the crimson female on the other side of the Dais raised her head and spoke. Her voice was light and sinuous like her own form. It carried out across the crowd....

***
...And as the song wound up and came to a conclusion, Milo felt the scepter in his hands warm and key itself to him and his bloodline. The diamond that crowned it beckoned him, and he knew suddenly that its name was a true naming.... he could gaze into its shiny glimmering surface and see the length and breath of his kingdom, so long as he could focus his mind on what he wanted to see.

*Doomsday Diamond - Courtesy Erenthril
update per HD Due to the expected degradation of imbuements over time, the gemstone remains a thing of beauty and while it still retains a level of it's previous destructive power, that has largely diminished over time.

*Counterfeit Imperial Visas (Riley Preston, Argo Kostas)

*Fine jeweled falchion with runes embedded in its blade and house and imperial crests fashioned into its hilt - Forged by and Courtesy of Argonox Arkdun

Argo waved for the Knight to present the gift to Milo. Once Milo accepted it and removed the cloth, He would find a falchion blade of a strange dark metal. In all appearance it had the look of very high quality steel equivelant to elven or dwarven metal, but this blade had a unique property. The brick to which he forged this weapon had some form of anti rust properties on it. Though the blade would dull at the same rate as elven or dwarven steel, it would never rust.

Etched along the flat of the blade were runes of the giant kin which read 'Honor with Duty, Passion with Honor'. They were the words spoken to him by his dwarven master who had taught him the smithing arts. The metallic aura of the blade glistened in the flickering of the light from candles and suns. The hilt had a hand gaurd covering to protect the users knuckles and webbed within this gaurd was the Crest of Milo's House. At the nipple of the hilt was the imperial Crest. Both crests were spun with gold. This was a perfect blade made by a Master Smith, a one of a kind beauty at least in the eyes of it's maker.

*A personal airship capable of carrying 30 individuals or goods - Designed by Erenthril, built, enchanted and grown by Erenthril and Z'kron; and Courtesy of Erenthril as a personal gift to Milo

*Kaimelea's Bow - Courtesy Parreyon Syndicus and Shortie

Avaset Silkwind – The High Priest of The City of Reverie in the Plane of Dreams is currently her most powerful fully mortal priest. Said to also be a skilled weaponsmith, Avaset often creates artifact level weapons which Kaimelea then places into the hands of those who are loyal or those she wishes to favor in order to help further a cause she’s taken an active role in. Avaset’s weapons are easily recognized. They are made of a opalescence metal called pearlvein that is sometimes mistakenly referred to as pink, and each bring about three distinct gifts. Pearlvein is every bit as strong as dwarven steel, though it is indeed softer than jewelsteel on the material plane (on the Plane of Dreams nothing is harder), and is found in ore form only in The Plane of Dreams where it is sometimes mined and exported. The first gift one of Avaset’s weapons can bring is that of inner sight. They often open the wielders dreams to become faucets of communication. This first gift is said to be so strong if a wielder holds a weapon forged by Avaset in his or her hands, they can speak directly to the Planetar of Dreams herself. The second gift is that these weapons protect the wielder from Risthal and her nightmareish intentions. The third secret these weapons possess are the ability for the wielder to enter the Plane of Dreams physically and in a completely safe manner, even without being a worshiper of Kaimelea or having training in Dream Walking. If these creations are blessed by Kaimelea, often they will strike true if the wielder themselves has a true heart and firm intent on what they are about. This is especially true of Avaset’s bows. update per HD due to the destruction of Kaimelea, any deity-granted powers and any connection to the Dreamscape no longer fuction. In spite of that, it remains a weapon of incredible beauty, strength and quality.[

*A Crown representing Milo's rule over a new age and Kingdom - Received on the Isle of the Crown

Auron stretched out his arms and closed his eyes. He opened his mouth and from it came a single cry, a bellowing moan that transformed into a perfect harmonious note, hanging upon the still wind and carrying it with it a solitary melody. Crystalline in its form and unalterable in its essence, it shot forth and pierced the skies. The Medallions of the adventurers continued to glow, their words burning brighter than ever, visible from any vantage point on the ground or the sky above them. And from the innumerable pieces of dust and sand near the adventurers, the grey matter that was all that remained of the Aethercrown, emerged a whirlwind of energy and light. A single glyph materialized over their surface, a circular emblem with entwined lines creating points without a beginning or an end, but all dependant upon the other. And with the whirlwind, the dust of the artifact crown rose and spun in the sky. It bolted over to Auron and Milo, and, as the Aelyrian ceased his song, he turned and looked Milo directly in the eye. The dust dispersed in a violent shattering, and everyone closed their eyes and braced themselves instinctively.

When the wind and dust cleared, upon Milo's head rest a princely crown of gold with a thick trim, and elegant arches and long rising peaks, studded with purple stones that glimmered the crimson and emerald colors so brilliantly shining upon the medallions. Auron turned to face the Aelyrians, adventurers and bloodsmen alike, and he shouted so that all could hear him upon the isle.

"Let this Man carry the Sword of these Charges, the Scepter of our Virtues," he said, "and may I be the first to address him as my kindred kinsman and brother. All Hail, His Royal Highness, Prince Milo the First, Lord Protector of the Kingdom of Aelyria!"

Milo L'Evienne Rewards:
Milo has been crowned Prince of Aelyria by King Auron.
Milo has earned 3 Experience Points in Any Skill of Choosing.

*??? - Received on the Isle of the Crown
"Your Will has been touched by Time," said Auron, "and yet, how, it remains a mystery to Us. Your power is great, but it is a very quiet power that transcends who you are and is felt in what you do for the people whom you so serve." The Aelyrian bowed his head apologetically. "This Mystery is too great for Us. We sense eternal depths, as if you have always been Destined for this command, and yet have Eternally been bound to its servitude. Curious that riddles are given to a riddler such as Us, but, there it is. Your purpose, and how Time has touched you, is something that was planned deliberately by the Son of Retax. And... yet..." Auron paused for a moment, and stepped back, turning to look at the shattered remenants of the Aethercrown.

*An empowered Royal Medallion - Received on the Isle of the Crown
Suddenly, there was a sharp rush of wind that blew up from around the mountainside; it was a chill that carried with it an impervious heat, a paradox of sensations. Auron's eyes grew wide as, still embracing Milo's arm in his, as an eyebrow arched over and the Aelyrian took a cautious half-step. Milo instinctively released the Aelyrian's hand and followed his gaze, down to his own chest. Around Milo's neck was the golden-chained emerald medallion, darkened since returning from time. Now, it was blazing a bright green, its power somehow rekindled by the elements. In fact, as both Milo and Auron looked around, all adventurers had their medallions glowing; even Wessex de Evile IV found his Viceroy's Medallion, which had been unpowered for centuries, suddenly come back to life once more. Odyleon and Parreyon could both instantly sense the churning power stemming from the Aetherfragments that Milo had picked up, still in Odyleon's possession from his earlier ritual to attempt to save Aslangrad. A bright trail of golden light began to stream from the fragments, out towards the emerald medallions. Milo's was the first to be touched by this power.

The golden dust settled over the medallion, and the rush of wind grew more intense. The green glowing face of the gem began to shimmer and upon its surface, glimmering runes in crimson began to take shape and form, an Ancient word appearing in the shining facet of crystal worn by Milo L'Evienne.

About Chelseanna:

Description

While it numbered only a few hundred actual inhabitants (the rest being tourists and aspiring musicians from all over the Empire), the town itself was a jewel of beauty, though it was self-conscious beauty. Unwalled and seemingly unprotected, since the island relied on its small fleet to fend off pirates and other attackers, it was a feast for the eyes, buildings concealing and shadowing one another as if competing for a place in the spotlight, the final result succeeding in conveying the feeling of surprise the locals valued so deeply. It sufficed to move from an observation point to the next, and Port Chelseanna would offer a different side of itself, almost looking like a different town. Its palaces, featuring a frivolous architectural style made of unnecessary columns and a wise but at the same time witty balance between full and empty spaces, were pure eye candy and could perhaps remind of Ieffreon, but with an important difference: while Ieffreonian buildings were majestic in their simplicity, shining in the beauty of bare proportions, Chelseanna showed off its assets much more blatantly, as if begging the visitor for a praise. Doors and windows could be seen in the least expected places, and oftentimes what looked like the entrance to a building was merely an optical illusion caused by a painting on the wall, a trompe l'oeil of incredible realism, and the real entrance was almost hidden somewhere else. The more impressive buildings were only visible after emerging from narrow, dark alleys in order to exploit the surprise effect to its fullest potential.

Port Chelseanna is built to awe the visitor. Chelseannan’s spare no expense in construction and the more opulent the better. They try to fuse art and life into one medium and Murals, illusions, and faux doors hide around every corner. Alleyways wound through the city, bringing visitors to unexpected courtyards and dazzling manors. Columns, statues, fountains, Chelseannan’s

History

In recent history, the evacuation of Eunesia hit Chelseanna hard since much of its income was built around tourism and the students attending the Conservatorio. With the mainlanders disappearance the natives of Chelseanna had to make some tough choices. The city became a clearing house of stolen and smuggled goods. Most of this business was carried out during the darkening, and none of the citizens ever talked about it openly during the brightening. It was their dirty little secret- cooperating with pirates to survive.

Culture

Port Chelseanna is a very insular community, wary of newcomers while trying to make as much money off of them as they can. Their two faced-ness is natural to them, they present a false front of politeness to strangers, but what they really think is anyone's guess. Oftentimes the most polite person you meet in the cafes of the Porto is a vicious smuggler during the darkening. Everyone pays close attention to public presentation and they always veil their true motives.

At the center of life of Chelseanna is the family. It is the most important thing above all else, and it is the most influential political unit on the island. At the head of the family is the Patriarch, an elder male whose duty it is to see after family holdings and business deals. His wife is considered the Matriarch and holds sway over the personal end of the family.

The Chelseannan obsesses over the niceties of societal exchange, and always looks to act elegantly- even when they are trying to destroy each other. Veiled insults, clever puns, all this is considered essential for being a refined individual. They are social beasts, spending most of their time in the Piazza or at gatherings or big family meals. They are fabulous hosts, but look out for the agreements you make with them, and read the fine print. Chelseannans love contracts.

Local Government

The Island is small and so is the city government. The Thane is called the Podestà by the locals and performs many of the services himself. He acts as Aedile and has a small staff to assist him collecting taxes and helping citizens. The Thane is plugged into everything on the Island and watches over it all like a hawk.

  • Population: 350
  • Culture: Human
  • Trade: Sea and Fish Products, Art, Music, Wine/Grapes, Olives/Olive Oil, Citrus Fruits

Gloriana et L'Evienne

Gloriana.png
Milo L'Evienne's mother, Gloriana, is fully sixty years old. But due to her flawless complexion and regal bearing, she somehow manages to appear a full decade younger. Rioughe has sworn on a number of occasions that it can only be due to witch's work. But he's yet been able to prove it. While her vanity and at times, barely concealed pettiness may be unmatched, Gloriana, when she chooses to, can seem a mistress of all the social graces. Her racial, and in particular her societal biases, are many, However, in spite of her many flaws, should the situation require it, or otherwise seem advantageous, she can be quite gracious and charming. Gloriana gave birth to Milo when she was quite young, after a brief affair with Rioughe L'Evienne. Quickly finding motherhood not to her liking, she surrendered him to Rioughe's keeping when he was just over a year old. Gloriana has been married, and widowed, three times.

Hannah L'Evienne

HannahL'Evienne.png

The eldest daughter of Nell du'Galle et L'Evienne, and Milo L'Evienne, Hannah is not quite sixteen years old. Of all three L'Evienne children, with her dark hair, hazel eyes and tall and graceful, almost delicate frame, she most resembles her mother. As the oldest, her memories of having lived in the palace in Prime are clearer and more numerous than those of her younger siblings. By the same token, though her mother has been absent for just under a decade; ; Hannah's memories of Nell are also greater in number. Though it has to be said that Hannah's memory of her mother, due to stubbornness, wishful thinking and circumstance, is a somewhat idealized version of a more complicated woman. She's a talented singer with a sweet, clear voice, though an untrained one, and a sensitive but serious young woman who can often lapse into unpredictable periods of melancholia. Hannah loves to read, and has also shown a great deal of interest in politics; an interest that Milo would prefer she'd put aside.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Owen L'Evienne

OwenL'Evienne.png

Owen is the second child, and only son of Nell du'Galle et L'Evienne, and Milo L'Evienne, and is thirteen years old. Much like his younger sister, Owen has very few if any memory of a previous, life in Aelyria Prime, and equally as few of his mother. His coloring is like that of his father, with dark brown hair and earthy green eyes; and while he is obviously still growing and has a lanky frame, he will probably grow as tall as his grandfather Rioughe. He is a young man somewhat caught squarely between the concerns of adulthood and the more frivolous ones of childhood. Though when not on his own, he is more likely to spend time with younger sister Madeline and allow her imagination to lead them, than with Hannah; who much prefers her solitude. He's inherited his father's, and Rioughe's, dry sense of humor and is a bit of a dreamer. In addition, Owen is very good with his hands and is already showing a real aptitude for understanding mechanics and how things work.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Madeline L'Evienne

MadelineL'Evienne.png

At eleven years old, Madeline is the youngest child and daughter of Nell Du'Galle et L'Evienne, and Milo L'Evienne. She takes after her grandmother Gloriana so far as her coloring and appearance, and her Grandfather Rioughe in personality and spirit. A state of affairs, that if the two were reversed, her father would find most unfortunate indeed. Of all the L'Evienne children, her memories of Prime and of her mother, are the fewest if any at all besides what she's been told. She doesn't appear to have suffered from the not knowing. Madeline is a clever and bold, mischievous and imaginative young girl. As the youngest child, and admittedly somewhat indulged, she's been raised free and wild on the beautiful beaches of Chelseanna, away from the expectations of a more rigid society. Though her interests at such a young age may shift from one to another in swift succession, she's already showing sings of being a very talented painter.
