Jade Alanon

"If all the women in the world would gather and shout, they wouldn't even be able to suppress my whisper"

Basic Information

Name:
Jade Alanon
Title: Dame, Knighted by Tiyribi Andares - Former Lady Protector of Demios
Age: 92 ordinations
Race: Half-Elven, Mixed blood
Birthplace: Carmelyan Hinterlands
Alignment: True Neutral
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual (thanks Willow)
Religious Views
Jade has no god that she chooses to follow but rather shows a general disdain for all things above and below. She never offers up prayers to either Aetherians or Aeternians but does often curse them for misfortune that befalls her. She has a particular hatred for Jalat given the God of Death had once sent reaper demons after her kind, the Sanguine. It was said by a reaper demon Jade met in Demios that the gods don't have much liking for the Sanguine. She also bears a mark of Aslan but it's not a sign of loyalty on her part but rather it was burned into her shoulder by Eyvind Redbeard. She has been mistaken for being a follower of Aslan because of the mark which Jade hates.

Personality
Jade is a very difficult woman for anyone to get close to or understand. Very complex in some ways, in other ways she is the most simple creature on Telath. Jade is a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go for it regardless of the consequences. She has a strong will and is known for being very stubborn and hardheaded. Highly independent and uninterested in having too many people in her life, Jade isn't the sort to have a large collection of friends and very rarely will she go out of her way to socialize with others if she has better things to do.

Her reaction to most situations is either acidic wit and sarcasm or violence. Jade values strength over anything else and despises cowardice. She openly speaks her mind about others when they want to hear her opinion or not and isn't afraid to throw a punch if it will prove a point.

Physical Appearance
Eyes:
Dark green
Hair: White-gold
Skin: Semi-tan, healthy with scars and marks

Height: 5'9"
Weight: 126 lbs

Standing at 5 foot 9 inches, Jade isn't what what would call imposing in regards to height but she more than makes up for it in demeanour and presence. Due to her training and fighting she has a toned figure with defined muscle. Scars are scattered all over her body from eras of getting into situations that involve losing chunks of flesh in order to survive. Once Jade had long dark hair but due to events in the desert, her hair has become ivory. Her most noticed feature would be her vivid emeraldine eyes that convey a great deal behind them beneath thick lashes. Her lips are pale and often set into a smirk or disapproving scowl depending on her mood and being elven she of course has pointed ears but they are hidden beneath her white hair.

After a rather harrowing encounter in the realm of the gods, Jade received a scar slashed down her throat that still hurt when touched. It's cause is unknown to an extent as is it's meaning but still it remains.

Noticeable marks and scars
  • Brand of Aslan -- A brand burned into her right shoulder of Aslan's symbol in order to cauterize a wound she had suffered at the hands of an enemy. Jade had no choice and was very angry with the stranger for what he had done. She hides it as best she can but has been mistaken for a worshipper of Aslan which pisses Jade off to no end. - Given by Eyvind Redbeard
  • Blood red rose -- Jade went to a tattoo parlour in Zinn'sunn in order to get a tattoo for the first time. Her choice was a blood red rose on her left shoulder about the size of her fist. It's symbolism was her decision to accept her role as the bloody rose of the Sanguine. It remains as a reminder of her past life as a Sanguine. - Received in Zinn'sunn
  • Jade would be left with a terrible scar cut across her throat that burned whenever she touched it and a sense that someone was perpetually watching her every move.

Possessions

Clothing

  • A small traveling wardrobe -- 1st set and 2nd set

  • Pair of dark boots, worn and weathered

  • Silver necklace with a dagger pendent- Given by Duncan Sythe

  • Dark cloak - Magical properties, allows the user to become near invisible in the shadows. Thread given.

  • Snake Skin gloves - Snake skin gloves with padded leather inside to keep the hand insulated but prevent any moisture from entering. It was also an excellent grip when wielding a weapon. Thread received.

  • Blue Scarab Breastplate (Rusty and old looking) - A piece of armor found in the desert during an adventure. Is potentially from the Order of the Blue Scarab, like Aganadara and her bracelet is. Is currently useless but could be fixed up.

  • Ring of Jade Alanon - Given by Shei'yein Neydremi during the celebration against the Xet.
    Crafter Level: Archmage
    Charges: 4/4
    Description:

Four charges of Thoughtweave are imbued in the respective gemstone. Journeyman Strength.

Weaponry
  • Quarterstaff - Jade's best weapon and her constant companion, Jade doesn't go anywhere without her staff. Made from dark wood of an unknown tree, Jade has used her warping abilities to strengthen the wood to be as strong as steel and able to stand going against swords as well as provide more of a force.

  • Kemite Sword - Kemite-forged sword, well maintained. Has a custom hard leather sheath with a metal edge to further protect the blade inside.

  • Compass Rose Shurikens and Throwing daggers - Bought in Zinn'Sunn, Jade keeps the shurikens in a sling that often hangs around her waist and the daggers on various places on her person. Both types of weapons have been warped and then reified using sorcery and mysticism essence. They have better aim, being slightly guided toward Jade's intended target and can be called back to her hand with a thought, weapons must be within line of sight to be called back.

  • Aganadara (Magical) - "
This Kemite-style long knife is about 3/4th the size of a short sword but it is well-balanced for Jade’s grip. The high-quality steel alloy creates strange, dark shapes along the blade obscuring it to some degree. It also drips a foul-smelling liquid, which reacts to blood and flesh.
Active Effect: When this blade strikes a living foe and draws blood, it afflicts them with “Impotence” akin to the initiate Necromancy spell. Aganadara’s victims will be crippled and their strength, energy and stamina siphoned while the caster is simultaneously slightly empowered. The target’s body will become limp, generally requiring the greatest efforts to even lift a finger. The effects will persist so long as Aganadara continues to cut and partake of their blood.

  • Bracelet of the Order of the Blue Scarab (Magical) - “It was this bastardization that drew us to you Jade, this weapon is the product of a dark soul who raped one of our gifts and stole its power. Within it we can sense the being of ourselves, but it is corrupted beyond anything you could ever imagine. Now that we know you are strong enough, we have blessed you with a gift to use this weapon, but it will be your task to balance the wills of these creatures. With time you will grow strong, and with you, your soul will be forged in fire. When the time comes, you must avenge us and cut down the wicked creature that created such ugly thing.” The bracelet itself is connected to Jade's dagger Aganadara and is the reason Aganadara has such power now. It cannot be removed from her wrist. - Update: When Aganadara was shattered during the Xet war, this bracelet came off Jade's wrist and is now currently being kept in a safe place.

  • Blue Scarab Hand Weapon (Rusty and old looking) - A hand weapon found in the desert during an adventure, it is a cross between a punching dagger and knuckles. It is currently useless but could be taken to a blacksmith and fixed up.

  • Adjustable Hand-Crossbow - Jade's attempt at getting crafty via gadgeteering. The Crossbow had movable parts that can be detached and reattached. If she wanted a hand crossbow, small enough to fit her hand, she could have one. And if she wanted a mini ballista, she could restructure for one too. And if she needed to add additional equipment to the crossbow like a scope, or a repeater (to shoot more than one bolts), or stabilizer (for increased accuracy), or any others... she could too! -- Note: Additional equipment constructed separately of course.

  • Horn of Drannor - forged by the best smiths in Northern Arium, the lance was presented to the Jade for her heroics during the raid. The perfectly balanced spear was designed to be wielded on her famous fire drake. The polished wooden shaft was made from the remains of Ygg. While it was originally ivory-white, the blacksmith was troubled to discover that its coloring inverted when the wood was successfully crafted into a weapon. The material is heavier than normal wood but much more durable and difficult to break. Unique.

Other Possessions
  • Ebony violin - Bought in Natura, Jade bought the beautiful ebony wood violin with a desire to emulate her sister's past life as a Sanguine and learn how to play. Has it with her rarely but plays when she finds some time on her own.

  • A whimsical gadgeteered dragon crafted from brightly painted metal, hovering and frolicking about, suspended in air above a stylized, equally whimsical map of the Empire. - Created by Klue and purchased Here

  • Emerald Pendant (Magical) - A pendent given to Jade and Nymira in Zinn'Sunn when they visited the Ludian Statue. Nymira gave up a hidden truth and was rewarded by the statue with the pendent. When placed around her neck it allows Nymira to regain her human form for ten candlemarks at a time. The transformation is extremely painful for both sisters and the necklace has to be worn during her human form, should it be removed she would revert to a Virkyn. Update: Since Nymira's disappearance via the Gods, the pendant remains in a safe place, it is unknown what effect the pendent has now.

  • Deed to Shop in Ziel Aerca in the Malian Kame District below her apartment called the Jade Drake.

  • Deed to Two Bedroom Apartment in Ziel Aerca in the Malian Kame District above her shop

  • Rare artefact-A strange type of alloy found after the battle, unknown properties.

  • Xet head - Cut from the corpse of the Xet that Jade had killed during a battle in Arium. Currently hangs on the wall of Jade's shop as a trophy, potential spellbreaking capabilities later on.

  • Large diamond - Worth 1200 crowns, given as a reward for fighting a Yid in a village.

  • Serewood Crystal - colorless diamond that can be fitted into a ring or necklace with strange runes inscribed within its endless facets. When held, it allows the user to remember any dream or memory of theirs in great, vivid detail. The gem can also 'store' one store memories given freely by others, one at a time.

  • Pinnacle Crystal - a black mineral shaped like an obelisk. It is extremely dense, akin to diamond, and may be used as a weapon. But it cannot be reforged or mixed with other materials since it seems to deteriorate and degrade inorganic objects placed near it. When one looks upon the mirror-like surface, they can see their greatest fears and nightmares vividly, as if reliving the experience.

  • Manticore tail / stinger - Jade cut it from dead manticore she killed in Demios when she met and bonded with Emrys
Spellbreaking Items
  • Smooth stone (Seed) - The first seed Jade acquired. She chose the small smooth stone in a brook near the place where she would gather the arcane contamination. Within the stone is enough nature essence to be a suitable seed for her purpose.

  • Carved wooden box (Trap for Elementalism contamination) - The first trap Jade used as a spellbreaker. A wooden box with symbols carved into the wood on each side, providing an opening on all four sides. A symbol for earth, water, fire, and air in each side. The lid was able to be lifted and on the inside rested a small wooden stand that would hold the seed. She was given the trap by her mentor to help her get started.

  • Globe of light (Creation) - Jade's first creation. The item is a simple globe made of glass that has been warped to be quite strong. Inside flickers a dim light and the globe itself gives off residual heat though it does not burn when held. The light does not fade nor go out and it smells reminiscent to the earth and the sea.

  • Silver Hip Flask - A silver hip-flask that has a combination of elementalism and sorcery contamination. It is capable of pulling moisture from the air and filling the flask with drinkable water.

  • Silver dagger necklace and earrings - A necklace/earring combo that can be incorporated into other kinds of jewellery. Infused with mysticism contamination, the wearer of this item is able to communicate telepathically with someone wearing a similar piece made by the same spellbreaker. They have to be able to focus to make it work and the person they seek to communicate with must be within two hundred feet of each other or it doesn't work. Causes some strain on the mind when used for too long.

  • Bandages - A bandage infused with Thaum healing essence. The bandage is able to seal a wound that it covers, the entire wound must be covered by the bandage for this to work and it stops the person from bleeding out so long as it stays covered. It does not completely heal a wound.

  • Glass flash grenades - A hand sized orb with Thaum and mysticism contamination within. Can be thrown and upon a spoken word, it will explode and release a blinding flash of light that can work as a signal, a distraction, or can blind any who see it.

  • Spirit Wolf's Tooth (Magical/Seed) - A gift given to Jade by her departing spirit guide in Zinn'Sunn. When placed beneath the pillow, the tooth is able to keep nigtmares away. The tooth is currently being used as a seed for Jade's spellbreaking. Infused with mystic essence, it has been warped to withstand the arcane contamination placed inside.

  • Circlet of a dead hedgemage - There before him, lay his completed Circlet. It was a perfect blend of all that he was. It was a confluence of that which blessed him, and that which cursed him. The rings had transformed into a pattern of thorn berry bushes, like a thorn crown to be worn atop the head. The Nexus, however, was quite different. It was scaled, and reptilian. At the center, staring back at him, was the firey orange eye...of a dragon. - Jade cut the circlet from Lightem's head after he died during a battle against the Xet. While beaten up and no longer functioning as a magical circlet, it functions brilliantly as a seed for multiple essences connected to the arcana practiced by the now dead mage. Approved by Shalafi.

  • Abomination Ashes (greater alchemical properties) - The ashes of an Abomination Jade killed during a hunt in Natura. Has potential to be used in alchemy or in Jade's spellbreaking as a medium ingredient, most likely used for necromancy.

  • Paper Tiger Remains (alchemical reagent) - The remains of the ellusive Paper Tiger that Jade and the Gil'dae clan were tracking. Could be used as a medium ingredient for spellbreaking, possibly either druidism or necromancy.

  • Black stones (uncommon alchemy or arcana reagent/Seeds, x4) - Small stones that Jade received in the desert during an adventure. Two are being used as seeds for mysticism while the other two are used for necromancy seeds.

  • Acolyte Ash x3 (uncommon alchemical reagent with known Necromantic properties) - An alchemical reagent found during an adventure, can be used in a medium mixture for spellbreaking. Used for necromancy.

  • Starfire Fragments (rare alchemical reagent with known elemental properties) - An alchemical reagent found during an adventure, can be used in a medium mixture for spellbreaking. Used for elementalism.

  • Demon Bark - known reagent and entropy / elementalism seed. Rare.

  • Demon Roots - known reagent and entropy / druidism seed. Rare.

  • Demon Dirt - known reagent and extremely rich source of fertilizer. Rare.

  • Foul Faerie Powder - Known magical reagent and druidism seed.

SPELLBREAKING
ezgif-7-9205ab7b29dd.gif

  • Spell Dissolution – This was the aspect that had drawn Jade to the path of a spellbreaker. The ability to tear apart a mage's spell, destroy the weave and render the spell, and in some cases, the mage themselves useless. Jade is working on on becoming proficient on breaking spells, especially in higher pressure situations such as fighting while trying to break spells. Jade has shown to be proficient at breaking spells that are equal to her own level.

  • Warp – Jade is able to warp the properties of her focuses mainly natural objects such as wood, making it as strong as steel though this process takes almost ten minutes at a time and a great deal of concentration. As she has reached a new level of spellbreaking, Jade's proficiency with warping has grown, allowing her to effect larger areas and taking less time to warp something.

  • Sense Magic – Due to her connection with the Material Plane, Jade is capable of sensing arcana and natural essences. She can smell the essence of arcana as well as feel it when she's in clara as well as when she's out of it depending on how strong the arcane contamination happens to be.

  • Clara (Focus) – Jade is able to enter Clara through the use of mediation in order to connect with the Material Plane. It often takes her a fair amount of time only because she has trouble reaching a peaceful place in her mind given all her tumultuous thinking.
Professional
  • Spell Bounce – Under Ezechiel's tutelage, Jade has learned how to use Spell Bounce, a spellbreaking technique that allows Jade to deflect spells away from her or redirect them towards another target. Jade has little experience with this technique but will grow in strength with more practice.

  • Circle of Magic – Ezechiel has taught Jade how to create a circle of protection when working.

  • Unbinding – Jade has been taught by her mentor how to use a twisted form of unbinding.
Reification Techniques
  • Identify pockets of arcane contamination – While in Clara Jade is able to detect the presence of arcane contamination. At the moment, due to her lower level, she is only able to detect small amounts of incidental and persistent pockets of arcane contamination and harvest energies from them. She is unable to touch more potent areas just yet.

  • Harvesting – Using a trap created for the particular kind of contamination and a seed, Jade is able to harvest the arcane contamination. The process itself can take anywhere from a few candlemarks to brightenings at a time depending on the area and the source of the contamination as well as the power behind it. Jade's own method for harvesting involves a lot of patience as well as care when the process has finished. She has yet to break a seed that carried arcane contamination and is hoping that doesn't change anytime soon.

  • Infusion – Infusion takes the great amount of time in the reification process as far as Jade is concerned as it involves the most amount of work. It is the process in which you turn the arcane contamination towards a more useful purpose though the ways in doing this vary. Jade has experimented with different ways of doing this though she has found over time that her favoured method involves poking and prodding the infusion with tools while spinning tales, sometimes false tales, that mirror what it is she wants her creations to become. She still uses water as her medium and has yet to experiment further with other solutions. Reaching a new level of spellbreaking has allowed Jade to mix arcane contamination now to strength her creations as well as give her a wider range of items she can create. She has also begun to experiment with different mediums.

  • Reification – The process of placing the infusion into a focus. Jade is rather adept at this so far. Jade is very cautious when it comes to this process thus it can take quite a long time for her to finish up the item she is crafting.
Items created / Experience
  • Globe of light - Jade's first creation. The item is a simple globe made of glass that has been warped to be quite strong. Inside flickers a dim light and the globe itself gives off residual heat though it does not burn when held. The light does not fade nor go out and it smells reminiscent to the earth and the sea.
  • A silver hip-flask - Has a combination of elementalism and sorcery contamination. It is capable of pulling moisture from the air and filling the flask with drinkable water.
  • Glass flash grenades - A hand sized orb with Thaum and mysticism contamination within. Can be thrown and upon a spoken word, it will explode and release a blinding flash of light that can work as a signal, a distraction, or can blind any who see it.
  • Bandages - A bandage infused with Thaum healing essence. The bandage is able to seal a wound that it covers, the entire wound must be covered by the bandage for this to work and it stops the person from bleeding out so long as it stays covered. It does not completely heal a wound.
  • Silver dagger necklace and earrings - A necklace/earring combo that can be incorporated into other kinds of jewelry. Infused with mysticism contamination, the wearer of this item is able to communicate telepathically with someone wearing a similar piece made by the same spellbreaker. They have to be able to focus to make it work and the person they seek to communicate with must be within twenty feet of them or it doesn't work. Causes some strain on the mind when used for too long.

Jade's Sanguine History according to Niravia

tumblr_lsnj5hGlQ31qg0u4go1_500.jpg

She was a Keeper, a librarian in a great structure called the Krevion. She was a daughter of a prominent Keeper, one attached to some of the most ancient records possible on Arcana. But her passion wasn't there, and he understood. Though, her sister Nymira's was. It was some contention between them. Nymira was magic and fire, Jade was weapons and ice. Her job and her pleasure was old weapons, old weapon styles, recreating them and preserving them.

There was very little Jade didn't know about combat throughout history. One had to only name an era, and she could point to the chief civilizations, who used what, and why. She was something of a weapons-master in training in her own right, having mastered her third level of blades and going for her fourth which would set her apart from other Keepers. There were very few warriors among them. But she didn't mind walking a different pathway. Her life was good, full, and healthy until The Rhasic got heavily embroiled in politics.
The keepers kept closing down more and more sections of the library to the public, and finally all of their doors were closed. The Rhasic rebelled and attacked, figuring to capture the knowledge for themselves. Jade was a hero of the battle, saving many lives, cutting down many Rhasic. She was on the front lines and held those lines long into the night before finally falling herself. The surprise and the destructive powers of the Rhasic mages were incredible. The last thing she saw before death overtook her was her sister going down, fallen by a Rhasic who'd cuffed her upside the head.

Memories flooded her then, and she knew Nymira hadn't died. She'd been captured and taken by them, kept imprisoned for seven years, tortured, studied and pumped aggressively for information. Nymira had only escaped as other wars raged, managing to make it back to the Krevion's ruins just in time for the second Rhasic Invasion. Only, they had been too late. The year was known to them as The Sundering, more than a thousand years in the past. And that was when Jade had been born again, brought back by ritual, and her soul ripped apart.

It was then that Jade realized she dwelled in two time periods at once. Firstly, she was here, with Nymira's half in Virkyn form. And secondly, she was back in time, with Nymira's human half, trapped in Virkyn form. The knowledge flooded her, threatened her sanity, but somehow... because it was true, and because it was her own so intimately.... it stuck. The story unfolded and The Sundering happened.

The truth behind Jade's Sanguine heritage and curse

fO2Lej3.gif
What Niravia had revealed to Jade had been nothing more than smoke and mirrors, a lie told to soften the blow behind Jade's true curse. Whilst similar to that of her Sanguine kin who had undergone the Sundering, Jade had suffered far worse because her curse had come from the enemy directly. During the attack and subsequent burning of the Krevion, Jayda had fought at the front lines in order to try and repel their forces but she had fallen to the enemy. Rather than kill Jayda, she was kept in the cells of the Rhasic King to be used for an ancient ritual.

"You will die, but you will be made to suffer. To live a half life, a life cursed from sunlight. It will happen soon."

Kept for eras and tortured regularly, Jayda's mind, body, and soul began to fracture. It was only through the kindness of Jac that she found a way to keep her sanity. Nymira, who she had once thought to be her sister, had been something else entirely. Not a sister but rather a splintered fragment of Jade's sanity and strength that manifested into 'the wolf' of her mind. Jade had been an only child of The Master, a prominent keeper of the Krevion and thus Nymira had always been a part of Jayda.

"It's the name she gives her alter self. Her stronger self. It's only started recently but she is convinced that is her sister."
While Jayda did not know the reason behind her torture nor what the King's plans would be for her, she managed to survive his torment leading up to the ritual that would name her as the Queen of the Rhasic. The high priestess of wisdom and power that all should fear and respect. It was all ahead of her and yet the love that she had found with Jac from within the enemy stronghold would be the catalyst that would lead to his gruesome death and their shared curse from the Rhasic King.

"An enemy will be give themselves to the God's willingly, a queen that will be graced with such power the king's reign will end. With great strength she will rule the accumulated wisdom of the Rhasic and will rule with pure intent for the growth of the Rhasic and their own good until an heir is born of her blood to become the next dragon king."

Jayda was forced to watch as Jac was beaten and broken down before her, his kindness to Jayda was seen as treachery and he paid dearly for it. Both Jac and Jayda showed defiance in their last moments before the Rhasic King plunged his sword through Jayda's stomach in a fatal blow that would finally deliver her from the pain and degradation she had suffered.

"I curse you to never find peace, to live a half life split within yourself. You will never be whole, a part of you will always be detached and inaccessible. The 'wolf', your strength will never be yours to keep. I curse you to never find love or passion, happiness will burn around you and your life will know nothing but pain."
Even in death, Jayda could not truly escape. A blood curse was handed down by the Rhasic King in his final hours of cruelty. His blood mixed with her own through the wound in her stomach as he spoke the ancient words that would fracture her soul into a thousand pieces and, in essence, create Nymira. A thousand lifetimes would give the Rhasic a chance to perhaps finish what they had started with the 'treacherous' sacrifice. However, it was not just Jade that would be forced to suffer from this pain. The King would then turn to Jac...

"I curse you to forever chase your love but to never have her. You will have strength, beauty, wealth and wisdom but all will taste like ash on your mouth. You will never know what it is like to have love with your precious Jayda. I curse you to live your life as the tyrant you claim I am, reliving all the horrors done to you, passed on to others. You will be a great evil."

And thus, Jerack was born...

Jade's Pre-RP History

Jade was born in a village in the Carmelyan Hinterlands, the village itself small and intimate, everyone knew everyone and got along well. The village was arcanically protected, making it so that no one could find the village unless they already knew how to find it, making sure outsiders and Orcs were unable to find them. The village had it's share of farmers and hunters, one or two warriors, Jade's father included, and the Chief of the village, all the villagers believing themselves safe. Jade's father, Darian Alanon was one of the few warriors, skilled with the sword and a sort of teacher to the young men of the village. Jade's mother Davina Discel lived and worked in the village as an herbalist, talented and gentle, she could have been a healer. Davina and Darian were childhood friends and fell in love, marrying young and having a daughter early in their marriage. One child was all they could have and yet their little Jade was all they wanted, a sweet innocent child with an inquisitive mind.

Jade was a little beauty growing up, happy and healthy, making friends with a young orphan named Jerack. Jerack was a good bit older then Jade was, but being that he was an orphan and somewhat of an outcast, he clung tightly to his young friend and soon developed feelings for Jade. There was always something dark within the young boy and while Jade was naïve and trusting, her father was not and could see something in Jerack that he didn't like. Jerack was ten eras older then Jade and was more like an older brother to Jade then a love interest, his love for her grew as did his jealousy at any young elf that chose to look at Jade. Jade and Jerack would get into fights because Jerack was so possessive of her.

It is unknown how exactly Jerack came into his dealings with orcs, but it was discovered by none other then Jade's father, who really had been looking for a reason to make him stay away from his daughter. Taking it before the Chief of the village, Jerack was banished from the village, unable to say his goodbyes to Jade, who was unaware of his banishment at the time. He left the village with a vow for revenge, it was believed that once one spent time away from the village, their memory of it's location would fade, so Jerack's threats meant nothing to them.

An era or so later, Jerack returned, but he made sure to appear only before Jade. He looked rougher and stronger then when he had been in the village and young Jade noticed, but she didn't see any reason to be suspicious, she had wondered where he had been for so long, but at least he was back. He told her to go out and pick him some wild berries and not to come back until she picked him enough to make a few pies, it was a challenge and Jade couldn't turn it down, she ran off to do as she was told, unknowing that Jerack had led orcs into the village to massacre everyone there, leaving Jade alive and entirely his. While Jerack didn't take part in the carnage, he watched with a sadistic smile on his face, watching as Jade's father was cut down in front of him, though he hadn't known Jade had returned as she had seen the smoke burning from the fires that the orcs set.

Race: Elven, mixed blood

Relationship to Jade: Mortal enemy, half-brother, fellow curse-bearer, incarnate of Jac

Appearance: A handsome elven man built for battle even at a young age with long dark raven hair and stunning eyes that seemed to change when looked at at different angles. He stands at an imposing 6'3 and has a muscular build to him. His lips are often pulled into a sneer or a mocking smirk, a crazed look in his silver-blue eyes. He has scars all over from battles though they only seem to enhance his rugged good looks.

Personality: Obnoxious and insane, Jerack believes that he should be given what he wants when he wants it and he's not afraid to kill to get what he wants. Life is of no importance to Jerack and he has shown his blatant disregard for it on various occasions, instead he seems to enjoy inflicting pain when he gets the chance. He has an obsessive love for his younger half-sister Jade and sees himself as the only man worthy of having her and has shown his stubbornness and unwillingness to let her go. He is delusional that Jade will someday love him and accept his twisted love despite the fact that he knows about their shared blood.

History: Jerack was born in the same village as Jade was, born different then the other children, he quickly became an outcast. His mother died when he was quite young and he only found out about his father's identity by accident. His only friend was the daughter of a hunter in the village, Jade, who was a few eras younger then he was. They were inseparable for the longest time and shared everything with one another. Not surprising that he would fall in love with her despite the age difference between the pair. She, however, did not reciprocate his love and what was worse, he found out later that they shared the same father, though Jade had no knowledge of this. Their father knew though and saw the way Jerack looked at his daughter, whom he treasured above everything else. He viewed Jerack as a mistake and a troublesome one at that, his existence was a constant reminder of his infidelity. Finding out that Jerack, in his loneliness, had started consorting with orcs, he had the young man banished.

Jerack left without a fight, though he would return not long after his banishment. It is unknown whether the banishment itself or his time spent away in the harsh world had taken the young elf's sanity from him, but it was to say that when he did return to the home he had been banished from, he was different. He stood tall, bearing scares that had come from his travels a few eras later, orcs at his beck and call. Before he had the orcs attack, he found his beautiful half-sister Jade and spoke kindly to her, for she had not known the reason Jerack had disappeared, she had thought he had left on his own. He tricked her into leaving the village to pick some wildberries, only signalling the attack once she had left. He took special care in making his father watch as his beloved wife was murdered before he himself was cut down. What Jerack didn't know was Jade had returned and saw her father killed, though she hadn't seen Jerack there, hadn't known of his betrayal.

He left rather then face her at that moment, fearing the trauma of what happened would keep her from seeing his reason behind it. He followed the young woman for eras, protecting her in ways though never showing himself, allowing her to believe he had passed on. When he finally did show himself, she found out the truth behind the massacre and vowed revenge on him, not exactly the loving reaction he had expected in his liberating them from their father's interference. He roams all over Aelyria at his leisure, gathering strength, continuous delusional in the fact that Jade would someday love him as he loved her.

Amended history: Jerack has made numerous attempts to force Jade into loving him, from threatening those that she loved to nearly taking her life with a poison out of sheer stubborness in their 'destiny' together. He mentioned a 'temple' that he visited but Jade doesn't know the details behind it all. It is where he learned the truth behind the reason for his obsession with Jade. He shares a blood curse with Jade's past Sanguine life. He was once Jac, a Rhasic servant to the Rhasic King and Jayda's lead torturer when she had been captured by the enemy. She endured five eras of torture and despite his time spent as the man who delivered pain and degradation, he also showed kindness when possible and eventually he fell in love with Jayda. He made attempts to help her escape but in the end, neither were able to survive the wrath of the Rhasic King. Jac was cursed to constantly be reborn, forever chasing after the woman he loves but forever denied her love in return. He would become the monster that he deemed the Rhasic King to be, beautiful and terrible in all manners. He has become aware of this curse and has made Jade aware as well. What his plans are after this have been unknown.

Skills: Swordsman and sorcerer, up to the mods what level he is at. He also has a massive spy network throughout the Empire.

Jade's Doppleganger

There is a great mystery surrounding the existence of Jade's duplicate. Her name is Jane. How she came to look like Jade or where she came from is unknown. All that Jade does know about her double is that she is an exact match for Jade, voice and mannerisms included though she is a lot more arrogant and chatty, possibly because she is being forced to live another life.

Jane knows a great deal about Jade, has studied the way Jade fights and has been able to match Jade blow for blow at one point. She has a deep hatred for Jade that she is unable to hide whenever she sees the real Jade. It stems from the fact that Jane is an imitation, a cheap imitation as far as Jade is concerned. Another reason that Jane has such violent hatred of Jade is the fact that unlike Jade, Jane is in love with Jerack and wants him to see her as his love rather than a temporary replacement.

She has done everything she could to try and make Jerack love her but he refuses to accept her as real, choosing instead to use her. He forces her to act like Jade and gets angry when she doesn't get it perfect. At one point Jane decided to try and murder Jade in order to get her out of the way and give Jerack no choice but to choose her but that fight didn't go as she planned and she returned to Jerack.

The next time she was seen was when she distracted Duncan for a short time while Jerack took and poisoned the real Jade. The ruse didn't last long of course but she was traded safely for her duplicate and returned to her master. She has been seen since at Jerack's side when Duncan came to retrieve the cure that would save Jade's life from the poison he used on her.

Has not been seen since but is believed to remain at the side of Jerack.

  • When Jade did eventually turn to set aside her violin in its case, she’d find resting alongside of it a beautifully bound leather book finely stitched at the seam with beautifully scrawled writing etched into its top: Compositions from around the Empire. Simple enough? Perhaps. When she opened the bound collection of compositions, the violinist would find a collection of songs written by the greatest composers from throughout the empire. The pages themselves were beautifully arranged with neat black lines and delicately printed notes, with the titles edged in gold and small colorful print work at the corners of some pages to add some illumination to the pages. At the back of the book were some empty pages, where perhaps the Spellbreaker might someday find some peace and comfort in creating her own pieces to share with the world.
