 Herbalist Necromancer Grafter Healer Alchemist Ashandra Gha'Nalis was born and raised among the Rhaghrnd people of the Great Mountains. She never knew her father until she left her mountain homeland on the pilgrimage all her people must undertake before they are considered an adult among their people - never understood that the differences she noticed growing up were because she was not fully human, but rather the result of a union of a Rhaghrnd slave - her mother - and an elven father. To this day, Ashandra has never met her father; never met the man who had taken her mother and turned her into a slave, who had followed her to her homeland to retake what he believed to be his property. As far as Ashandra is aware, her father has no knowledge of her existence. Ashandra was raised by her mother's sister and her husband, who had no children of their own. She was raised believing them to be her parents, and only learned the truth after she had left on her own Vision Quest, a time when all young Rhaghrnd children must embark on a journey to discover their place in the tribe. Ashandra inherited a love and reverence of nature from her mother's people, whom she was raised among. From her father, however, she inherited a certain ambivalence toward the sanctity of life. Whether she would give her life for those she loves has never been tested, though even she questions it - even where her daughter, Bessa, is concerned. BESSA GHA'NALIS: Young Vysttichi child, equivalent of a human child of 7 years. True age unknown. White hair, red eyes. Has adopted Ashandra's accent since coming to live with her. Lives with her Rhaghrnd governess, Vivianne, at their villa in Ieffreon. Vivianne - Half Esh'lahier and half Rhaghrnd, Vivanne is Bessa's governess. Though of the same racial background as Ashandra, the two had never met before Vivianne was hired on to Ashandra's household. She is soft spoken, without the unique accent of both Bessa and Ashandra herself. She had never spoken of the mountain homeland of the Rhaghrnd people, and Ashandra suspects that the woman has never been. ELMORUS: Ashandra's original teacher in the necromantic arts. He currently resides in Ashandra's villa, complete with an underground laboratory for his experiments. This laboratory can be sealed shut - with himself inside it - should he ever be discovered as a necromancer, or come under attack by foes he cannot easily dispatch.  Characteristics: Alcoholic. Banished from Jaedaxia due to her involvement in a cult and use of necromancy. Former Borthanist cult member. Former owner of several Herbalism businesses across the realm of Aelyria - these businesses have since been left to their own devices, though Ashandra still holds the deeds to the land. Mother of Bessa Gha'Nalis, Vysstichi daughter (adopted). Long white hair down to her waist, Ashandra is pale as the Rhaghrnd tribe she was raised among - her mothers' people. From her father she inherited the twin-tipped ears that mark her as half-esh, as well as a willowy figure and low physical strength. Her eyes are the deep green of the grasslands that she never saw as a child of the snows, and slanted ever so slightly. After escaping, she made her way back to her home in the mountains, where she left Ashandra before leaving herself, too afraid that Kedrinus might follow her -- too afraid of Ashandra coming under his control. Her final fate remains a mystery to Ashandra - as does whether or not she is still alive. Ashandra was raised by her mother's sister and her husband, who had no children of their own.
